U.S. and Global Immigration Training Day in London, 9 October
Sophy King, Peregrine’s Managing Director, and Jim Alexander, a Managing Shareholder at Maggio + Kattar, will be running a global immigration training day, focusing on U.S. immigration, on behalf of Symposium Training in London on 9 October. The programme is designed to give delegates a thorough understanding of global immigration challenges and how to handle them, and to guide them through the complex U.S. inbound immigration process. Full details are available on the Symposium website here.
The day starts with a review of objectives of all participants, followed by a look at global and U.S. immigration basics: key terms, dos and don'ts, common red flags and risk areas, and global immigration trends. After coffee, we look at common misconceptions around immigration regulations for extended business travellers, including travellers remaining on home payroll, visiting for less than 90 days, or visiting client sites. The post-lunch session focusses on the challenging U.S. immigration system, including requirements, best practices, visa types, interviews, travelling and changes of status. Finally, we finish the day with a session on the good, the bad and the ugly of U.S. immigration, looking at recent immigration and marriage reform developments, and the penalties for non-compliance.
